Understanding catch-and-release fishing on local rivers

For those of us that enjoy spincasting or fly-fishing the local rivers like the Campbell, Quinsam, Oyster, Elk, and Salmon rivers, we know the rules and regulations pertaining to each fishing area.

Some rivers are catch-and-release for trout or salmon and all hooks are supposed to be barbless. There are a number of tourists that will come to Campbell River to enjoy the fishing experience.
