School district 72 board trustees give themselves wage increase

Annual increase for chair person, vice-chairperson and trustees

School district 72 board trustees voted to increase their wages during the final board meeting of the 2022-23 school year on June 20.

Based on current information from other school districts on Vancouver Island and provincial formula an annual increase of $1,593 for the chair person, $1,612 for vice-chairperson and $1,460 for school trustees was recommended.

The wage increase means chairperson Kat Eddy will receive $18,190, vice-chairperson Craig Gillis receives $16,742 and each trustee will now receive $15,557 annually.
