In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Hart Parrish. He passed peacefully in the Campbell River Hospital on Dec, 23rd of 2023.

We are grateful to the home care staff and the hospital staff for all the care provided.

He is predeceased by his greatest love, Mary Caren Parrish. His brother Roy Parrish and his nephew, Richard Parrish.

He is survived his children, Gregory (Sandra), Donald (Mary), Anna-Marie (George) and Sonja. The grandchildren, Laura (Mark), Ian, Henry, Reuben, Shannon (Tom), Destiny, Wyatt, Caren, Grady and Adam. The GREAT grandchildren, Mason, Deven and Nate, also his nephew David Parrish (Kathy).

Ron was born in Vancouver in 1936, he grew up on and around Stuart Island. He met his lovely wife at a community dance. They built a house in Big Bay and started their family with a pioneer spirit, much heart and hard work.

He was a fisherman and a hunting guide, a hand logger, a boat-building captain who dreamed of being a farmer. He was capable, inventive, industrious and great company! He moved the house over the water from Big Bay to Campbell River and settled in. The wood stove was always cozy and the coffee was always on. After selling the MV Tally IV, you could find him In the garden with his bride, growing fantastic things, or in the wood shop, building. They would frequently host brilliant turkey dinners for the whole family to enjoy together.

We are very thankful to Mike and Caroline for their compassion and support.

Ron will be deeply and profoundly missed for his wisdom, stories and his outstanding ability to make people feel accepted, heard and understood. He led with kindness and will continue to inspire his family to do the same.
