BYLAW NO. 528 – ELECTORAL AREA ‘I’ (CORTES ISLAND)
ZONING BYLAW, 2002, Amendment No. 33

Subject Area: The subject area is legally described as Lot A, Section 33, Sayward District, Cortes Island, Plan 28666 as shown on the map below.
Purpose: The bylaw, if adopted, would rezone the subject parcel from Rural One (RU-1) to Rural Residential One (RR-1) to facilitate a subdivision of the parcel into two lots.
Copies of the proposed bylaw and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District (SRD) Customer Service Centre, located at 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from November 27, 2023 until 12:00 noon on Friday, December 8, 2023. The bylaw and associated staff reports may also be viewed on the SRD website at www.srd.ca.
The public hearing will be chaired by the Director of Electoral Area B representing the SRD Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaw will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. Persons unable to attend the hearing can submit signed written submissions to form part of the public hearing record provided submissions are delivered via post, by hand to the SRD Community Services Desk or electronically to planning@srd.ca no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, December 8, 2023. Submissions that do not meet the above requirements or are made after the close of the public hearing cannot be considered.
