New SRD housing service gives district tools to tackle housing crisis

District will look into existing projects to find funding gaps

The Strathcona Regional District has will have a more tools to use in addressing housing issues in the area after establishing a regional housing service.

The service was established on Jan. 24 after getting electoral approval for the service. The service comes with the ability to borrow up to $10 million for that purpose. The goal of the serivce is to consider “several housing-related challenges” in the area and to work with other groups involved in housing.
