In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Peters, age 70. After a prolonged illness which severely impacted his quality of life, Mike spent his final weeks receiving excellent care from the staff at Evergreen's private care facility in Campbell River.

Michael was deeply loved and will be missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his mother Verlie Carleton, son Brendan, grandchildren Conner and Ruby, sisters Jacque and Catherine, nephew Aaron, nieces Leah, Jessica and Lauren, great nephews Archer, Charlie, Luke and great niece Mila.

He was predeceased by his father Nolen Peters, stepfather Glen Carleton and sister Daryl Peters.

Mike spent many years living on the West Coast of BC. He resided on Cortes Island for a few years assisting in the operation of Gorge Harbor Marina, and then migrated to Campbell River. Mike loved being out on the water, being an avid fisherman and an enthusiastic recreational swimmer. During his semi-retirement years, Mike enjoyed numerous trips to sunny Mexico, making several friendships with the locals and other snowbirds. He was very comfortable relating with young people and enjoyed playful teasing with his many nieces and nephews. Their youthful presence brought him much joy over the years.

A celebration of life for Mike will take place on June 9, 2024, at 3 pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre, 621 Island Highway in Campbell River.

Family and friends of Mike are welcome to attend.
