Marine Harvest falls short of Coastal Cup goal

A strong crowd braved the elements to cheer the U18 boys on but alas with almost the last kick of the game Chilliwack Storm claimed the victory

Campbell River Marine Harvest’s Zach Hamilton pounds his second goal of the game into the back of the Chilliwack net and cuts the deficit to 3-2. Hamilton had scored earlier on a penalty shot. A tying goal was scored to knot the score 3-3 at the end of regulation time. A shootout was virtually assured until Chilliwack was awarded a penalty shot in the last moments of the overtime period and secured a 4-3 victory.

Marine Harvest bowed out of the 2011 Coastal Cup after an overtime defeat at Willow Point Park on Sunday.

A strong crowd braved the elements to cheer the U18 boys on but alas with almost the last kick of the game Chilliwack Storm claimed the victory.

The game proved to be an even affair and the local boys had more of the possession in the early stage of the game.
