In Loving Memory ~

Lynn Ellen Rolston was born August 1st, 1949 and died suddenly on December 11, 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Rolston, married in 2018 and together 30 years; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Vornbrock and her partner, Owen Schellenberger (Victoria); grandchildren, Adam Earl (Calgary) and Findley Schellenberger (Victoria); sister, Gail McConechy (Campbell River); cousin Paul McConechy and his daughter Meghann Rader and family.

Lynn was predeceased by her daughter, Rosanne Gail in 2007 and her parents Earl and Ruby McConechy.

Born into a Navy family, Lynn moved a lot as a child which gave her the gift of making connections quickly. Anyone who knew Lynn was greeted by big hugs, warm smiles, and lots of conversation. Never at a loss for words, Lynn was a central part of everything she touched.

She was a loving wife to her husband Bill. She was a wonderful mother to her daughters Jennifer and Rosanne. A grandmother to Adam and Findley. A big sister to four including her little sister Gail. A leader in the Port Alberni business community along with husband Bill as owners of Rolston Plumbing and Heating.

Her commitment to family and friends was unrivalled. She had family and friends all over. In Victoria, Campbell River, Vancouver, Chicago and her latest new friends in Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. Her recent trips to the United Kingdom with Bill brought her such joy.

Planning the trips with her daughter Jennifer was great fun as they searched castles, trains, and planes to the Shetland Islands, Inverness, and St. David's among the many places she and Bill visited.

Over her life, Lynn lived in many places from coast to coast finally making Port Alberni her home and final stop. She loved her home, her garden, her neighbours. She made so many friendships and her loss will be felt for many, many years to come.

She left us much too soon. The family is heartbroken, and we wish to invite all those who knew Lynn to join us on Saturday, January 13th, 2024, in Port Alberni, BC. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm at Yates Memorial Services, 4470 Gertrude Ave followed by a Celebration of Life at the Best Western Barclay Hotel from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
