In Loving Memory ~

It is with sadness and joy that Les, age 95 went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whom he served since he was 18 years old.

Les was born in Myrnam Alberta, the oldest of 12 children.

Les married his first girlfriend Aloha, after meeting her at Youth Group in Ladysmith. They were married 62 years.

He spent his entire career in the logging industry working his way from hand falling to supervising. He worked in Copper Canyon Ladysmith, Nanaimo Lakes, Cameron Division, Franklin River Port Alberni, Menzies Bay Campbell River, and retired from Northwest Bay Parksville.

Les and Aloha enjoyed their retirement in Parksville until moving to Campbell River in 2008.

Les was a student of the Bible and loved to share what he learned. He taught Adult Sunday School for years in his local church. He loved the old hymns and led singing at church and camp meetings.

While in Campbell River, Les attended Christian Life Fellowship and prayed daily for the church family. French toast and ketchup were served up to many a guest after the evening church service. Visiting missionaries were always welcomed and Les and Aloha were known for their hospitality.

Always active, Les enjoyed his walks along Dogwood and Galerno pushing his walker when necessary. Thank you, friendly neighbours, for your encouragement to him.

Predeceased by his wife Aloha in 2012, siblings Mary, Nester, Kathy and Natalie.

Survived by his sisters Madeline, Martha, Olga (Dennis), Wilma (Terry) and brothers Metro (Lil), Winston (Judy) and Joe (Pat), his four children Beverley (Bryan), John (Theresa), Marie (Chuck), Bill (Shelley), grandchildren Kimberly (Costa), Richard(Carrie), Sheryl (Nick),Tricia (Randy), April (Jeremy), Rob (Kate), Gord (Jill), Sherilyn (Brandon), Jaci (Mark), great-grandchildren Austyn (Samantha), Taylor (James), Carter, Alex, Sydney, Summer, Jack, Ben, Lucas, Ava, Isla, Elle, Emma and Chloe, great-great grandchildren Malia and Riley.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
