Island Health issues overdose advisory for Campbell River

Island Health has issued a drug poisoning and overdose advisory for Campbell River.

According to the notice, overdoses have been increasing in Campbell River. People using drugs are facing higher risks from injection and inhalation.

If someone overdoses, Island Health advises to call 911 and stay with the person. Give Naloxone and administer one breath every five seconds.

Mixing substances increases the risk of overdose.
