In Loving Memory ~

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Helen, who left us peacefully at Woodland Cottage, Yuculta Lodge, February 8, 2024. Predeceased by her parents and 4 siblings, her daughter, Dolores Ordway and husband, Bruce Graham.

She is survived by her daughters Linda (Dale), Karen (Walter), Laurel (Aaron) and son Leonard (Christel), 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

She spent most of her working career in the restaurant industry; 8 years cooking in a logging camp (Fort St. James), 3 yrs. at Ross Brown's Restaurant (Granville St., Vanc.), 3 years cooking at the Marina Hotel (CR), 7 years at the Discovery Inn (CR) as caterer and then Hostess, and her last 5 working years as owner/operator of the Red Caboose (CR).

Mom was devoted to her family and reveled in family gatherings. She was fastidious in her dress, always having matching jewelry and never missing her weekly hair appointments. She enjoyed baseball when she was young, and eventually used her artistic talent making floral arrangements, decorating theme cakes, and finally oil painting.

She and dad loved to travel, play golf, camp, and spent 20 years as snowbirds from Campbell River to Rio Bend RV Park, EICentro, CA.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Yucula Lodge for taking excellent care of mom.

There will be no service, at mom's request.
