In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom Helen just a few days before her 90th birthday.

She was a resident of Yuculta Lodge for a few short weeks.

Predeceased by her husband Arthur Jr. and first husband John and baby Deborah. As well as her parents Anslem and Anna Johnson. She is survived by her sisters Ruby and Gloria and brother Harold.

Helen will be missed by her children, son Walter and daughter Tracey (Bill), her grandchildren Erin (Simon), Sol (Dorothy), Rosellen (Jim), and Leo (Stacie), Ophelia and Amelia (Cole), and great grandchildren Ryder, Marley, Matthew, Ella, Mareena and Thomas as well as many nieces and nephews.

Helen was born in Comox BC, attended Sandwick and Tsolum school in Courtenay and enjoyed attending those reunions. She later went on to work in many jobs from the officer's mess at the Comox Air Force base to the mill at Ocean Falls when she was first married.

After the tragic death of her first husband and infant daughter she left Ocean Falls with her son Walter and moved back to Courtenay.

She remarried Art and then Tracey came along. She remained a dedicated stay at home mom after that while enjoying activities such as camping, bowling and the CR Curling club where she dedicated most of her time.

After Art's retirement they were able to travel on some bus trips into the states and many years of camping all over BC and Alaska. Their favorite spots to camp were here at the lakes close to home and enjoyed more than 25 years of great retirement together. Mom also spent many years volunteering with the Ladies Auxiliary at the CR Curling Club, CR chapter of the OAP group and CR Senior's Centre.
