At approximately 2:24 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, the City of Campbell River Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 155 Erickson Road.

Approximately 20 firefighters responded, and mutual aid support was provided by the Oyster River Fire Department. Residents were evacuated and no serious injuries were reported, according to a statement from the City of Campbell River.

The Strathcona Regional District Emergency Support Services (ESS) program was activated and a reception centre to support the evacuated residents was established at the Campbell River Baptist Church.
