Canada Post has issued a red alert for Vancouver Island due to snow and freezing rain in the forecast for the rest of Wednesday.

The alert is in place until the weather improves. The snow and potential for freezing rain prompted the alert, which suspends delivery for the affected area.

“A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out or recalling them.
